How to enable voice-to-text from your device’s keyboard settings

Modified on Thu, 23 May at 3:46 PM

If you’re in a rush and typing might hold you up a bit, no worries!

The dictation feature on your keyboard will allow you to dictate any comments/notes you want to capture. In order for this to work you need to ensure that the setting is on and you can simply follow these steps to ensure that you are set to go.

Open the Settings App, then scroll down to General and then select the Keyboard setting

Once the keyboard settings expand, scroll down to Enable Dictation and switch the toggle on to activate the feature. This will allow you to use the MIC button on your keyboard in any text field on the application from general comments to text fields in forms.

Now that this has been set, you will notice that the MIC button on your keyboard will be clickable and once selected you can now dictate to your comment to be converted to text.

Remember to speak clearly and always proofread before you finalize and save the comment.

NB: Please ensure you have data connectivity otherwise the voice-to-text will not work.
