Sage X3 - Access Requirements

Modified on Mon, 13 Oct at 9:42 AM

Skynamo’s integration with Sage X3 leverages a combination of SQL data extraction and SOAP web services to ensure seamless, secure, and reliable data exchange between the two systems. This dual approach allows for both one-way and two-way synchronization of data, enabling a flexible and scalable integration suited to your operational needs.

Integration from Sage X3 to Skynamo

For one-way integration (data flowing from Sage X3 into Skynamo), we utilize our SQL Data Extraction Tool.
This lightweight application is designed to perform scheduled transfers of data from your Sage X3 SQL Server database to Skynamo’s secure S3 data store.

The tool uses a set of standard SQL queries that work on most Sage X3 databases. However, these queries can be customized to accommodate specific data structures or business requirements in your environment. This makes the integration both robust and adaptable.

Installation Options:

  • The tool can be installed by your technical team using the documentation attached to this article.

  • Alternatively, our team can complete the installation remotely via TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or RDP.

The software must be installed on a server with access to the Sage X3 SQL database.

Required Information for Setup:

  • Company key: yourinstancename (example: company.skynamo.me)

  • Task export start time (optional): 06:00

  • Sage X3 database name(s) and connection details

  • SQL user credentials with read access to the X3 database

Due to the way Sage X3 databases are structured in SQL, some query adjustments (such as adding database names) may be required during setup.

Integration from Skynamo to Sage X3

For two-way integration (where orders are pushed from Skynamo into Sage X3), we utilize Sage X3’s SOAP web services in combination with a custom Sage X3 patch provided by our team.

This requires:

  • Installation of the attached Sage X3 patch (SKY_XXKYN_003) on your Sage instance.

  • Configuration and opening of the necessary web services endpoints to allow communication between Skynamo and X3.

Both the patch file and the setup documentation are attached to this article.

Installation Options

You can choose between two installation paths:

  1. Self-Installation
Your internal IT or Sage support team can complete the installation using the provided documentation.

  2. Assisted Installation by Skynamo
Our technical team can perform the entire setup remotely using TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or RDP credentials.
This option typically accelerates deployment and ensures all custom SQL adjustments are applied correctly.

All connection and access details are treated as highly confidential.
Please do not send credentials via email.

Next Steps

Please confirm whether you’d like to:
