The different form field configurations - Explained

For each field that you add to your form, there is a set of configurations that you can choose from. It sits on the right-hand side of your screen:




This article will explain what the different configuration means per question option. 


Most of the question fields have the following configurations:



Visible on mobile: This means the question/field will appear on the users' devices. You can untick this box when you wish to remove a question from the form, but you do not want to lose the data associated with it. If you delete a question entirely, it also deletes all of the previous data that the users entered for it.


Editable on mobile: This allows the users to fill the question in.


This field must have a value: This makes the question compulsory and the user will not be able to submit the form if they have not completed this field



There are also question fields that have additional configurations.



Number field:


You are able to select the amount of Decimal places:




Drop down box field:


You can add extra options for your drop down selection:




You can delete or move options:




"Require comment on selection of" allows you to select fields that the users have to comment on. For example, if they select "No", they have to add a comment but if they select "Yes" it takes them to the next question:




Email field:


If the "Send to recipients" configuration is ticked, the field is used to email a copy of the form to the recipients entered. If the "Send to recipients" configuration is not ticked, then the field is used to gather data about email addresses. For example, you create a customer change form and the field is used to find out what the email address has changed to.




Date/Time field:


This field has 4 different options:




1. Date: Only a date is entered. For example, "Delivery date"


2. Date and Time: Date and time is entered. For example, "When is your next appointment scheduled for?"


3. Time (HH:MM): Time is entered in hours and minutes. For example, "What time did the delivery arrive?"


4. Time (HH:MM:SS): Time is entered in hours, minutes and seconds.


Label field:


You can choose between 3 different options.


1. Heading: You can add headings for different sections of your form. 


2. Normal print: This text is the same size as the rest of the questionnaire.


3. Fine print: This is small text and can be used to add Terms and Conditions, Banking details, Company details, etc. on the form.
