Why is the price in the order not the same as the price I entered in the quote?

  • Updated

Field rep Zintle manually edits the price of a product (Black pens) while adding a quote at the customer WOOW.

The price of Black pens as per the assigned price list (list price) in Insights is as shown below:

Exhibit A:

1. Zintle edits the price in the quote from R5.00 to R10.00 and places the quote.

2. Zintle converts the quote to an order.

3. Skynamo changes the price back to R5.00 in the order and shows the message "Prices Updated"  at the bottom of the screen:

Why did this happen?

- This is because Skynamo will always select the best price available for the customer receiving the order, in this case WOOW.

- The best price available is the list price of R5,00 per unit, since it is lower than R10,00 per unit.

Exhibit B:

1. Zintle now discounts the R5,00 down to R1,00 per unit and places the quote.

2. Zintle converts the quote to an order.

3. The price does not revert back to the list price of R5,00 in the order. Instead, it remains R1,00 as discounted:

- This is because the R1,00 per unit is the best price available for WOOW.

Note that the exact same thing happens when a quote is duplicated/copied on Skynamo.

If Zintle was to duplicate the quote(s) in Step 2 of:

Exhibit A: The price would revert back to the listed price of R5,00 in the duplicate quote.

Or

Exhibit B: The price would not revert back to the listed price of R5,00. Instead, it would remain R1.00 in the duplicate quote.
