With the help of a keyboard app called Swiftkey Keyboard you can easily use the voice to text function within Skynamo for capturing comments, notes, etc.
Step 1: Install Microsoft Swiftkey Keyboard
Start off by opening the Google Play store app on your device:
Search for “Swiftkey keyboard” in the search bar at the top, as can be seen below:
After selecting Swiftkey Keyboard from the list, click on “Install”:
Step 2: Choosing Swiftkey Keyboard as default keyboard
After Swiftkey keyboard has been installed, enable the keyboard as the default keyboard in the Settings on your device. To do this, go to Settings > Keyboard and Input devices > default Keyboard.
Alternatively, if you do not see the Keyboard and Input devices option upon clicking on Settings, go to System & updates > Language & input > Default keyboard > Select Swiftkey Keyboard.
Step 3: Using the Voice to text option in Skynamo
Click on any text input field in Skynamo. For example, this can be the search field for customers or the comment section in a visit. The Swiftkey Keyboard will pop up. Click and hold the microphone icon. (Please note, this icon might be located in a different area on your keyboard, depending on the layout.)
The following screen should open up. Simply start speaking when prompted to do so on the device and your text will automatically populate.
Please note that whenever you are making use of this function:
- Speak slowly
- Speak clearly
- Speak English
- Always re-read your text to ensure no words were changed, as different accents and dialects might have an influence on the results.
